Making the World a Safer Place for Refugees

By Amber Bauer | CEO

Dear friends,

Only thank to your continued generosity has forRefugees once again been able to stand alongside people seeking safety across Europe.

Since our last update in February, your support has enabled us to award 14 new grants, reaching nearly 30,000 people. Together we’ve helped provide interpreters, food, childcare, vehicles, tents, medical care, clothing, domestic violence support, and so much more - each action making the world a little safer and more welcoming for refugees.

Behind every number is a human story. Like Irshad*, a 60-year-old man from Afghanistan. After fleeing the Taliban with his family, he became separated from his daughter and grandchildren on the journey. He arrived in Lesvos alone, struggling with trauma and uncertainty. Each day he visited our partner Fenix’s container, sharing stories of his past work in traffic control - a small routine that gave him purpose. After months of waiting, Irshad was finally recognised as a refugee and has since been reunited with his loved ones in northern Europe. A happy ending that everyone deserves.

Stories like his remind us that your donations don’t just provide essentials - they restore dignity, belonging and hope.

In such a hostile time for women, children and men living as refugees, our collective kindness makes all the difference.

Thank you for being unapologetically for refugees and ensuring humanity and human values apply to everyone.

With gratitude,

Amber & the team
