Dear Friends of APF and the Professional Center:
Greetings from the mountains of Fondwa, Haiti. The APF Professional Center continues to teach tailoring and sewing. Currently, five students are enrolled, and are learning to design and create clothes and uniforms for all occasions. Learning a skill enables young people to have a skill, create a business, and earn money for themselves and their families.
I'm sure you are aware of the insecurity and violence gripping Haiti today. But, so far, the gangs have not reached the south. While the paralysis of Port-au-Prince negatively impacts us here in the countryside, for the most part we are able to obtain the supplies we need and continue our work. Finding funds for our teachers is a priority for us right now, so any funds you can send will help a lot.
Most recently, we designed and created outfits for the end-of-the-school year celebration. I hope you enjoy the photos.
I know our efforts may seem small. But, let me assure you, they make a big difference in our students' lives. Thank you for making this possible.
Gratefully,
Sr. Celine, APF Professional Center Director
