Tech-Driven Entrepreneurship for 1,000 Rural Youth

Lenguazaque se viste de sueños y emprendimiento

Te contamos que en las montañas de Lenguazaque, un grupo de estudiantes y docentes decidió que los sueños no se quedarían en ideas, sino que se transformarían en proyectos. Con la llegada del programa 1,2,3 X TIC de Más Por TIC, el pensamiento emprendedor y la creatividad se encendieron para tomar la forma de soluciones con impacto en la comunidad.

Omar Fernando, docente de tecnología e informática, encontró en la metodología de 1,2,3 X TIC una herramienta clara y bien estructurada para guiar a los estudiantes desde una idea hasta su realización. A lo largo del proceso aprendió sobre la creación de proyectos, qué significa ser emprendedor y cómo desarrollar una idea de negocio. Su compromiso lo llevó más allá del aula: viajó a Bogotá junto a David, integrante de la iniciativa Sindayer, para participar en un encuentro con docentes de Perú y Colombia. Allí, David presentó maquetas de vestidos elaborados con telas y materiales reciclados, mostrando que la moda también puede nacer desde el cuidado del planeta y la innovación rural, mientras Omar lo acompañaba como mentor y aliado.

El proyecto también unió a docentes de diferentes áreas como educación física, ciencias naturales y tecnología. La docente Ingrid destacó cómo las sesiones potenciaron la creatividad e innovación de los estudiantes, y reconoció que el mayor reto fue llevar las ideas hasta su desarrollo final. Por su parte, la docente Erika valoró la oportunidad de aprender sobre nuevas tecnologías, emprendimiento y trabajo colaborativo, sumando su experiencia para fortalecer el proceso.

Las iniciativas creadas por los estudiantes fueron tan diversas como sus intereses: drones agrícolas para riego y fumigación, taller de motos para mejorar la mecánica local y la seguridad vial, Huevos Paquita para impulsar la producción avícola criolla liderada por mujeres campesinas, ¡hasta un aeropuerto! para mejorar la conectividad del municipio. Entre ellas, Sindayer brilló por su propuesta de transformar prendas y materiales reciclados en ropa, dándole una segunda oportunidad a lo que se creía desechado, combinando creatividad, trabajo en equipo y conciencia ambiental.

El paso de 1,2,3 x TIC por Lenguazaque dejó más que proyectos: sembró la certeza de que cada estudiante puede transformar su entorno con creatividad, visión y trabajo colaborativo. Como diría Omar, aquí no solo se sueña… aquí se construyen los sueños.

Lenguazaque dresses in dreams and entrepreneurship.

High in the mountains of Lenguazaque a village in Cundinamarca - Colombia, a group of students and teachers decided their dreams wouldn’t stay as ideas, they would become real projects. When MásPor IC brought the 1,2,3 x TIC programto their school, entrepreneurial thinking and creativity lit up, turning into solutions with a real impact on the community.

Omar Fernando, a technology teacher, found in 1,2,3 x TIC a clear, hands-on roadmap to guide students from an idea to a finished project. Along the way, he learned about project design, what it means to be an entrepreneur, and how to shape a business idea. His commitment went beyond the classroom: he traveled to Bogotá with David, a member of the Sindayer initiative, to join a gathering with teachers from Peru and Colombia. There, David presented dress prototypes made from recycled fabrics and materials—proof that fashion can grow from environmental care and rural innovation, while Omar stood by him as mentor and ally.

The project also brought together teachers from different areas, physical education, natural sciences, and technology. Ingrid highlighted how the sessions boosted students’ creativity and innovation, noting that the biggest challenge was carrying ideas all the way to the finish line. Erika valued the chance to learn about new technologies, entrepreneurship, and teamwork, adding her experience to strengthen the process.

Student initiatives were as diverse as their interests: agricultural drones for irrigation and spraying, a motorcycle repair shop to improve local mechanics and road safety, “Huevos Paquita” to support women-led backyard poultry, and even an airport idea to improve the town’s connectivity. Among them, Sindayer stood out by transforming clothing and recycled materials into new garments—giving a second life to what others might discard, and blending creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness.

The visit of 1,2,3 x TIC to Lenguazaque left more than projects, it planted the certainty that every student can transform their surroundings with creativity, vision, and collaboration. As Omar says, this isn’t just a place to dream… it’s a place where dreams are built.
