The National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) is enthusiastic about the progress being made by the Lived Experience Leadership Project. NCH now operates four field offices that serve as regional hubs for self-advocacy. These sites are expanding their influence in the Northwest through a partnership with the King County Lived Experience Coalition, in Southern California through Housing is a Human Right, in Northern California through the Sacramento Homeless Union, and in the Southeastern United States through Community Action Now in Atlanta. Our teams are actively organizing and connecting with their neighbors throughout these regions. We are also working to establish field offices in various communities in the Northeast, Midwest, and central parts of the country.
NCH collaborated with Destination Home to host the 3rd Lived Experience Leadership Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. The conference brought together leaders with lived experience from across the United States, and more than 500 people attended either in person or online. Attendance for the conference continues to grow each year.
The last component of the Leadership Project is our Lived Experience Leadership Academy (LETA), which is experiencing significant growth. Over 400 people are enrolled in LETA, with numerous requests for enrollment in the coming months.
