Hi there,
I want to share a heartfelt update about our work in the far south of Chile that your support is making possible.
In the remote town of Puerto Aysén, 75-year-old Pedro and his beloved dog Pepa were living on the streets, exposed to the extreme cold of the austral winter. Thanks to the new shelter established by our team at Hogar de Cristo, Pedro and Pepa found refuge, safety, and a place to call home again. Pedro insisted on entering the hospedería together with Pepa, refusing to be separated from his faithful companion. Their story moved everyone—it’s about dignity, loyalty, and surviving the cold with hope.

This isn’t just a building—it’s a lifeline for people experiencing homelessness in one of the coldest, most isolated regions of the world. Your support for our Empowering The Southernmost Winter in Chile project means more nights of warmth, more meals, more care, and more human connection for those who have been forgotten.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Because of you, people like Pedro and Pepa find shelter, dignity, and a chance to heal from the harshness of winter—and life on the streets.
With deep gratitude,
Hogar de Cristo
