This Ramadan, Educate 3000 Students in Afghanistan

After months of preparation, Teach for Afghanistan finally secured the necessary funds for our educational initiative in July 2024. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors on GlobalGiving. Your unwavering support has already made a profound difference in the lives of Afghan students, enabling us to create dynamic educational models that have transformed the learning experience in schools. Now, we need your help to expand our reach and continue this vital work.

With the funds provided, we successfully developed 15 innovative educational models across various subjects, including:

• Biology: Photosynthesis, human kidney, respiratory system.
• English: Parts of speech, days of the week.
• Mathematics: Geometric shapes, basic arithmetic operations.
• Physics: Newton’s first law, water cycle, and solar system.

These models have revolutionized classroom instruction by providing hands-on, visual learning tools that cater to different learning styles. As a result, students now better understand complex concepts, develop stronger critical thinking skills, and actively engage in lessons. TAO fellows have also benefited from a more flexible and interactive teaching approach, making education more effective and enjoyable.

While we celebrate these successes, there is still so much more we can achieve together. Hundreds of students are still in need of access to quality educational resources. Your continued support can help us develop more models, train more fellows, and ensure a brighter future for Afghan students.

After years of preparation, Teach for Afghanistan finally received the funds for the project in July, 2024 and we are immensely grateful to our donors for their unwavering support through GlobalGiving. Your generosity has made a tremendous impact on the lives of students in Afghanistan by helping us create engaging educational models that have transformed the teaching environment in schools. This project report highlights the success of this initiative led by our dedicated teacher/fellow coach Ms Salma Nawabi from Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The funds provided enabled the development of 15 educational models across various subjects, including Biology (photosynthesis, human kidney, respiratory system), English (parts of speech, days of the week), Mathematics (geometric shapes, basic arithmetic operations), and Physics (Newton’s first law, water cycle, and solar system). These models were designed to enhance classroom instruction and cater to diverse learning styles.

The educational models significantly enriched the classroom experience by offering hands-on, visual aids for students. This initiative allowed students to better grasp complex concepts and fostered critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teachers benefited from a flexible teaching approach that accommodated different learning preferences, making the lessons more engaging and effective.

The students and teachers expressed immense appreciation for the educational models. Students were inspired to create their own models, boosting their creativity and enthusiasm for learning. Teachers reported improved student engagement, reduced absenteeism, and a more dynamic classroom environment.
