During the holy month of Ramadan—a time of compassion and generosity—many children in Afghanistan continue to face challenges in accessing quality education. Through the project “This Ramadan, Educate 3000 Students in Afghanistan,” Teach For Afghanistan aims to support 3000 students, including 2000 girls and 1000 boys, from underserved communities so they can continue their learning journey.
Our fellows in Nangarhar, Laghman, and Parwan provinces are committed to supporting these students through learning sessions, mentorship, and community engagement activities. However, many classrooms remain overcrowded and lack essential learning materials, which makes it difficult for students to fully engage in their education.
In many communities, students study with limited resources. These challenges often affect their motivation and ability to focus on their studies. Through this initiative, fellows are working closely with students to create supportive and engaging learning environments where they feel encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and actively participate in class.
During this reporting period, fellows have been preparing and organizing learning activities that focus not only on academic development but also on students’ well-being and confidence. These sessions aim to create safe spaces where students can learn, collaborate, and feel supported by their teachers and peers.
With the support of generous donors, this project will help provide learning materials, mentorship, and improved learning opportunities for these students. Your contribution can help ensure that children in underserved communities continue their education and remain hopeful about their future.
A Story of Hope: Asad from Daman Secondary School
One student, Asad, shared his hopes for the future. Like many students in his community, he studies in an overcrowded classroom with limited textbooks and learning materials. At times, these challenges make it difficult for him to stay motivated.
However, Asad believes that with additional learning support and encouragement from teachers and mentors, he can achieve his dreams. He hopes to continue his education and one day become a teacher who helps other children in his community learn and succeed.
Asad says:
"Education gives me hope for a better future. I want to continue studying and help other students like me."
His story reflects the reality of many students across our partner schools who are eager to learn despite numerous challenges. With the right support, they can continue their education and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Despite ongoing challenges such as limited resources, shortages of textbooks, and economic hardship faced by many families, students continue to show remarkable determination to learn.
We warmly invite donors around the world to support this project through GlobalGiving. Your contribution can help ensure that 3000 students in Afghanistan continue their education and gain access to better learning opportunities.
Together, we can help create a future where every child in Afghanistan has access to quality education and the chance to achieve their dreams.
