Empowerment Through Skills and Solidarity
This September marked the start of the third round of the Threads of Hope program, bringing 100 new women and girls together to learn, grow, and reclaim their independence through education and vocational training.
At our two centers in Kabul, participants began literacy, tailoring, and health education classes — forming the foundation for economic empowerment and women’s rights awareness. Early sessions focused on basic tailoring, reading, writing, and mental health, helping women build both practical and emotional resilience.
The program’s safe, supportive classrooms have become spaces of transformation. One participant shared,
“This is the first step I’ve taken just for myself.”
Another reflected,
“Now, I believe I can create my own future.”
For many, these are the first opportunities to learn in years — to read, to sew, and to believe again in their potential. In addition to technical skills, the program’s empowerment sessions foster confidence, leadership, and community connection, encouraging women to see themselves as contributors to both their families and Afghan society.
Double Your Impact — Empower Women Today
Your support keeps hope alive. Through the Safer World Matching Campaign, your donation is matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact for Afghan women and girls.
Together, we can continue to provide safe spaces for women to learn, earn, and lead — creating ripples of empowerment that extend far beyond the classroom.
Donate today while matching funds last — and help Afghan women stitch their futures with strength and dignity.
