In a heartbreaking tragedy near the Mingora Bypass in Swat, 18 individuals from Daska, Punjab lost their lives after being swept away by a sudden surge in the river's current. These were innocent tourists - mothers, fathers, children - who were simply enjoying a day in nature, unaware of the danger that lay ahead. On 27-06-2025, a tragic incident occurred in the Swat River, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 18 tourists, including women and children from Daska, Punjab, were trapped in the river, 11 out of 18 lost their lives when a sudden flash flood occured & they could not return back at river bank. The victims belonged to low- and middle-income households and had been visiting the scenic region.
