With support from our donors, volunteers, interns, and partners, we’ve been able to continue supporting the evolution of the WAKIPA project in empowering our group of women from rural Moshi by strengthening their personal networks, and enabling skills development through workshops on business management, events planning, and more. We are proud to have completed the International Women’s Day March this quarter.
We’re also excited to announced that we recently finalized strategic program plans to enable long-term, sustainable growth of the program and its participants! We are now researching with different partners in Moshi to identify an additional 13 young women in the community to join the program in order for them to bring in their own income. In just January alone, through all the income generating activities, including selling their products and hosting events, they brought in TZS 627,000! Another amazing fact is that between January 2016 and January 2019, they have increased their profit margin by 400%!
We’d like to thank our donors and volunteers for making this program possible and making a real impact on the women of Moshi. Stay tuned for more updates as the program evolves!
