Dear Global Givers,

At El Sistema Greece, we have the opportunity to witness how music transforms lives and one of our brightest examples is Fatat, a 15-year-old student at our music program at the Asylum Seekers Facility in Schisto.

When we first met Fatat in 2022 at the Asylum Seekers Facility in Schisto, she was a quiet girl who had just picked up the violin and joined our choir. From her very first lessons, we could see her curiosity and love for music shining through. Over the past three years, she has grown remarkably, both as a musician and as a young person. Today, she is our most advanced violin student at Schisto, and her dedication continues to inspire everyone around her.

Her talent and hard work have led her to perform in major concerts, playing with our orchestra and choir in some of Greece’s most prestigious concert halls. Each performance has been a moment of pride for her, but also for her teachers, classmates, and the entire El Sistema Greece community.

But what moves us most is not just how beautifully she plays, it’s how much she’s grown as a person. She now walks into class with joy, as though arriving to meet her friends. She encourages the younger musicians to practice, participate, and believe in themselves. Fatat has become a role model, proving that with patience, effort, and community support, music can help you grow in every way.

Stories like Fatat’s remind us why our work matters. Through music, children like her find not only a creative platform but also friendship, confidence, and hope for the future.

Thank you for your support and for continuing to believe in the power of music to change lives.

With gratitude,
Friends of El Sistema Greece
