Transforming the lives of rheumatic patients

We are deeply grateful for your generosity, which has allowed our Foundation to create life-changing opportunities for women living with rheumatic diseases. Thanks to your support, a group of our female patients recently completed an emotional support workshop designed to strengthen their well-being, resilience, and sense of community.

The results have been inspiring:

• A strong support network: Participants shared that, for the first time, they feel they are not alone in their journey. By connecting with women who face similar challenges, they have built a circle of trust, empathy, and encouragement.

• Greater self-awareness: Through guided activities, the women have been able to recognize the importance of emotional health in their recovery, developing tools to manage stress, fear, and uncertainty.

• Positive life changes: Many participants report feeling more confident, motivated, and hopeful about their treatment process. Some have even expressed that the workshop has given them back their sense of purpose and joy.

One participant shared: “Before, I felt isolated and overwhelmed. Now I know I have sisters walking this path with me. I feel stronger and more capable of facing my illness with courage.”

We are pleased to share with you the most recent progress and impact of Fundación Maritere’s work with low-income patients suffering from rheumatic diseases. Thanks to your generosity, we have continued to improve the quality of life for those who need it most.

Service Delivery Highlights:

• 466 Physiotherapy Sessions: These treatments have significantly improved patients’ mobility, reduced pain, and helped many regain their independence in daily activities.
• 69 Nutrition Consultations: Focused on personalized guidance, these sessions have contributed to better disease management, weight control, and overall well-being.
• 66 Psychological Support Sessions: Mental health is a key component of chronic illness care. Our support has helped patients cope with emotional stress, depression, and anxiety.
• 142 Rheumatology Consultations: Timely access to specialist care has allowed for accurate diagnoses, better treatment adherence, and prevention of disease progression.

Each session is more than a number — it represents a person whose life has been touched, comforted, and uplifted because of your support.

Your generous donations play a vital role in ensuring that patients can access and adhere to comprehensive treatment. For many of these individuals, financial barriers prevent them from receiving consistent medical care, essential medications, and the support services they need to manage their condition effectively. Thanks to your support, we can provide these patients with the resources necessary for long-term adherence to comprehensive treatment, significantly improving their quality of life and preventing further complications. Esther is one of our 122 patients that has benefited from a comprehensive treatment and thus has shown significant progress.
