IBC continues its work in its Community Center, serving both local and refugee communities in Kilis. In recent months, IBC organized a series of awareness and information sessions aimed at both Turkish and Syrian participants. These activities focused on raising awareness on Gender-Based Violence and available support services, as well as providing legal updates and rights-based information on Temporary Protection for Syrian refugees.
During the Gender-Based Violence sessions, IBC defined the concept of Gender-Based Violence and explained its various forms and the situations in which it may occur. The sessions addressed gender inequality, discriminatory attitudes, and the normalization of violent behaviors, all of which are closely linked to Gender-Based Violence and contribute to negative consequences for individuals, families, society, and especially children. Participants were informed about referral mechanisms available to survivors, including access to law enforcement authorities and health institutions. Information was provided on the ALO 183 Social Support Hotline, which offers free referral and support services, including services in Arabic. Participants were also informed about support mechanisms available through Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers and Social Service Centers. In addition, foreign nationals were informed that they may contact the ALO 157 YIMER Hotline for assistance and information in multiple languages.
In the sessions titled “Temporary Protection Regulation and Updates,” IBC informed participants about the scope of the Temporary Protection Regulation, procedures for obtaining identification documents, and access to education, healthcare, judicial services, and social assistance under temporary protection. IBC also provided information regarding applicants’ rights related to the protection of personal data, the conditions for the initiation, limitation, and termination of temporary protection, procedures for change of province, and the purpose and process of address verification. Participants’ questions were addressed throughout the sessions. Particular emphasis was placed on the healthcare-related updates introduced in 2026. IBC explained that individuals whose health insurance has been deactivated may obtain a healthcare counseling appointment through the online system of the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management and submit their cases to the relevant Provincial Directorate.
Through these activities, IBC aimed to increase awareness within the community and contribute to the empowerment of women and vulnerable groups. By supporting access to accurate information and strengthening knowledge of available referral pathways, IBC facilitated participants’ access to relevant institutions and services when needed.
IBC sincerely thanks you for your generous donations, which allow us to continue supporting local and Syrian communities and respond to their growing needs. Your kindness is someone's Hope.
