Saving Endangered Turtles

By Vuyo Mngomezulu | Personal Assistant to the CEO

Introduction

Our project is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of turtles, a mission aimed at preventing their demise due to ocean pollution. Our long-term goal is to ensure these magnificent creatures do not become endangered.

Report

Our expert team is always ready to rescue turtles that wash up on the African coast. While the majority are loggerheads and leatherbacks, our clinic has also welcomed stranded green, olive ridley, and hawksbill sea turtles. After rehabilitation, our mission is to reintroduce these turtles back into the ocean. We also provide outreach and awareness within the community to ensure people understand the importance of not returning a washed-up turtle to the ocean, as it will not survive.

We're thrilled to share that three of our rehabilitated turtles, Pan, Turbo, and Bob, have been released with satellite tags. It's been an incredible journey following their travels. Currently, all three are hanging out along the West Coast, not too far from each other.

However, we've noticed a slowdown in donations recently. We understand that times are challenging, but we want to emphasize how crucial your support is to our mission. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to saving more turtles.

In fact, a donation of just $10 can fund 2 Turtle Books to be donated to a local school, raising awareness of the endangered turtles.

Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in our cause. We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
