We are pleased to share an update on how your donation is making a real difference for orphans in Ukraine.
BKC has supported this orphanage for many years, thanks to the generosity of people around the world. Nearly four years into the war, your continued support has allowed us to provide help that the orphanage would not otherwise be able to access.
This time, we are glad to report that your generosity enabled us to respond to an urgent request from the orphanage for an industrial-level washing machine — a critical but costly item far beyond the reach of a small charity like ours. Thanks to the collective support of many donors, we were able to make this essential purchase.
The orphanage cares for about 150 children with severe disabilities, including many who are bedridden and require constant care. Clean clothing, bedding, towels, and medical linens are essential for hygiene, dignity, and preventing infections. Without reliable laundry equipment, staff are forced to wash items by hand or reuse linens longer than is safe, putting vulnerable children at risk.
Thanks to you, the orphanage now has a professional industrial washing machine (approx. 700 kg), capable of handling the heavy daily laundry needs of the institution. The cost of this support was USD 8,751. Our team personally travelled to oversee its delivery and installation.
