Mobilizing to Ensure Emergency Bags of Food Are Available in Cameron County

By Wendy Hanson | VP for Community Impact

Many of our local food pantries are empty due to shortages of food commodities at our regional Food Bank. These shortages have left Food Bank Shelves empty and local food pantries closing their doors. For our most vulnerable families, especially the elderly, this is a crisis.

Thanks to partners like you, we are working to ensure 1,300 of our pantry clients have emergency bags of food. We are mobilizing our corporate partners to assist us in food drives and offsetting the cost of the emergency food bags with the help of our GlobalGiving donors.

Hunger impacts health and can have serious consequences on the lives of children and elderly. Together with the community we are providing canned goods and fresh produce. These gifts are life sustaining.
