Please receive this summary Report,
This project was initiated to respond to urgent protection needs affecting members of the LGBTIQ community in rural Uganda. Initially, eight gay men from the community were forced to flee for their safety due to threats, violence, and hostility. The situation required immediate intervention to prevent harm and stabilize their lives.
Through this initiative, emergency support was mobilized to provide safe relocation, temporary shelter, medical care, and legal assistance. These services helped ensure the immediate safety and well-being of those affected while responding to serious human rights violations. The support provided reduced the risk of harm and helped the beneficiaries regain a sense of safety and dignity.
However, the situation continues to evolve, and the number of individuals at risk increase day and night. More members of the LGBTIQ community are facing threats, eviction, and discrimination, particularly in rural areas. As a result, the need for emergency protection, safe shelter, and psychosocial support has grown beyond the initial scope of the project.
With support from five donors, the project has made progress toward its fundraising goal of $3,000, with $980 remaining. Additional support is urgently needed to respond to the growing number of individuals seeking protection and assistance. Expanding this support will enable us to continue providing lifesaving services and restore hope to those facing persecution.
