What an exciting and impactful quarter it’s been for Fresh Spirit Wellness for Women Inc. (FSWW)! We’ve been deeply engaged in our community, celebrated a major milestone with our incredible founder, and continued to provide life-changing support to survivors and their families!
Community Connections in Action
Kicking off FSWW’s spring-summer outreach activities, Staff attended the Houston Furniture Bank’s (HFB) “No Kids On The Floor” Gala, hosted May 8th. The Furniture Bank is a major partner in assisting FSWW domestic violence clients and survivors with rebuilding their home-fronts and safe place, for them and their children.
On June 18, 2025, our FSWW team had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Community Resource Vendor Fair, hosted by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Harris County Resources for Children and Adults. This inspiring event brought together organizations from across the region, and we were thrilled to be part of it! We gained valuable insights into local resources that will greatly benefit our clients and their children. Even more importantly, we were able to meet face-to-face with service providers, creating personal connections that will allow us to offer warm hand-offs and seamless support to the families we serve. It was a beautiful day of learning, sharing, and community building!
Honoring our Leader
On June 28, 2025, FSWW staff proudly stood beside our visionary founder, Dr. Conte Terrell, as she was honored at the Blume Foundation’s 1st Annual Gala, “Petals of Hope.” Dr. Terrell received the Phoenix Petal Award, a deeply meaningful recognition of her unwavering resilience, her powerful journey of rebirth, and her radiant leadership in uplifting others. Her grace, empathy, and spirit of empowerment continue to inspire everything we do. We couldn’t be prouder!
FSWW’s Quarterly Stats are as follows:
This 3rd quarter, FSWW provided holistic, trauma-informed care to 193 unique clients through 1,223 hours of service. These services included concentrated case management, providing food, clothing, rental and utility assistance, psychiatric and medication support, emergency hotel accommodations and housing placement assistance, transportation, furniture and household items. FSWW assisted with principal document retrievals that were destroyed or lost during the survivors escape and transition. For the survivors who were inundated with legal matters, FSWW offered supportive legal advocacy and court accompaniment to ensure clients knew they were not alone as they fight to regain their independence, stability and peace of mind.
FSWW’s counseling and emotional wellness support also remains in great demand! We provided 653 hours of counseling/therapy to 110 survivors and hosted 13 support groups with 111 attendees. Every number represents a life touched, a burden lifted, and a step closer to healing and independence.

Looking Ahead with Hope and Purpose
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support through our GlobalGiving partner. This partnership is helping us meet critical needs in our community and empowering survivors to reclaim their lives with dignity and strength!
As the demand for housing and emergency shelter continues to rise, we are working tirelessly to expand our services and deepen our collaborations with local housing partners, builders, and community organizations. Unfortunately, overcrowded shelters and age restrictions continue to pose challenges, especially for large families, but we remain committed to finding innovative, compassionate solutions.
Together, we’re creating pathways to safety, stability, and new beginnings! FSWW is more determined than ever to walk alongside survivors and their families as they rebuild their lives, rediscover their power, and step boldly into their futures!
