Visual health in older adults is essential for maintaining stability, safety, and active participation in daily life. When vision declines, opportunities for interaction, mobility, and autonomy become limited.
Between November and January, ACREC strengthened its comprehensive care services for older adults with visual impairments. Through specialized consultations, diagnostic tests, and timely medical procedures, the organization addressed conditions that, if untreated, could lead to greater physical and social complications.
Appropriate visual health intervention helps prevent domestic accidents, reduce the risk of falls, and avoid the isolation often associated with progressive vision loss. It also supports independence in essential activities such as safe mobility, managing medical treatment, and participating in family life.
This quarter's results demonstrate that access to specialized ophthalmological services has a direct impact on quality of life. Regaining or stabilizing vision restores confidence, peace of mind, and the ability to remain active.
Every action taken during this period reaffirms our commitment to the dignity and well-being of older adults. Thanks to the support of those who believe in our mission, we continue expanding access to care while strengthening an intervention model grounded in equity, professionalism, and human sensitivity.
From November 2025 to February 2026, your support made it possible to provide 51 surgical grants to people in vulnerable situations, enabling them to restore their visual health and improve their quality of life.
Of the total beneficiaries, 61% were women and 39% were men, reflecting our commitment to inclusive care and prioritizing those who face greater barriers to accessing specialized services.
Your donation was transformed into financial assistance that made these surgeries possible—interventions that represent not only medical treatment, but also renewed autonomy, safety, and overall well-being.
Each grant awarded reflects the trust placed in our work. At ACREC, we manage resources responsibly and transparently, ensuring that every contribution generates a real and measurable impact.
Your commitment allows more people to see clearly again. Thank you for being part of this mission that transforms lives.
