Every day, premature babies in Albania fight to breathe, grow, and survive. Without the right equipment, even the smallest infection or delay in care can cost a life. Your generosity gives doctors the tools they need - electric syringes, and respiratory devices that keep fragile newborns stable and alive. With your help, neonatologists can act faster, treat more precisely, and give hundreds of premature babies a real chance to go home in their parents' arms. You make survival possible.
In Albania, being born too soon is one of the greatest threats to a baby's life. Every premature baby in the country is sent to one of two university hospitals in Tirana - their last hope for survival. Around 50 babies a day are being cared for in these hospitals. Doctors and nurses there work with very limited equipment. Fragile newborns struggle to breathe, gain weight, and fight infection - while the lifesaving tools their caregivers need are often missing or shared among many tiny patients.
Doctors and nurses know exactly what they need to save the tiniest lives - but too often, those tools aren't within reach. The Mother and Child Hospital Foundation listens directly to these frontline professionals, identifies their most urgent equipment needs, and provides the lifesaving tools that make timely diagnosis and care possible. With your support, we place the right equipment in the right hands - so medical teams can do what they do best: save the lives of hundreds of sick babies.
In both neonatal intensive care units, up to 50 tiny lives fight for a future. Each one is priceless - because no one can measure the impact a single life may one day have if it's protected from the very beginning. When skilled doctors and nurses have excellent equipment, they can safeguard a baby's eyes, lungs, heart, and every fragile system from the very first days - turning survival into possibility. Your support helps families bring their babies home - healthy, thriving, and ready to grow
