Monterrey - third branch of Mundo de Talentos
In May 2025, we enthusiastically celebrated the expansion of Mundo de Talentos into northern Mexico, inaugurating our third location in the municipality of Guadalupe, Nuevo León. This milestone was made possible thanks to the financial support and trust of the DEACERO Foundation, as well as the invaluable collaboration of DIF Guadalupe, which generously opened its doors to host our vocational guidance activities every Saturday. Before a vibrant community of families, students, and local partners, we began this chapter with 40 first-year students. To date, this group has successfully explored five thematic modules: Tourism, Environmental Stewardship, Arts, Communication, and Science, enriched with field trips and special sessions, some of which we detail below.
Environmental Care
Throughout this module, students identified various types of waste and mastered the art of waste separation and recycling. They utilized self-awareness tools through creative expression, crafting 3D paper self-portraits adorned with personal symbols. A deep dive into the 4Rs (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, and Repair) inspired them to design posters advocating for daily environmental stewardship. The curriculum was further enriched by two biologists who shared insights into biotechnology and the conservation of the Santa Catarina River’s biodiversity. The module culminated in a memorable excursion to the Papalote Science Museum, where an immersive IMAX film served as a catalyst for global awareness. With the active involvement of families, the experience successfully fostered a sense of shared responsibility, leaving the children with an extraordinary and enriching educational foundation.
Arts
This module focused on art as a tool for cohesion and self-expression, where students explored various disciplines and identified creative potential as a connective language. The program featured the creation of collective narratives and cultural identity collages, alongside sound awareness workshops that fostered group collaboration. A significant milestone was the participation of the Tintas de Acero Collective and professional artists, who guided students through the study of sculpture and graphic arts. Through activities such as 'Shaping My Interests,' participants transformed abstract concepts into tangible forms, strengthening both their self-confidence and their non-verbal communication skills.
Science
The module began with a comprehensive introduction to various scientific disciplines, prioritizing experiential learning. Through hands-on activities, such as DNA extraction and microscopic observation, students strengthened their critical thinking and environmental awareness. A key component was the inter-institutional collaboration with CONALEP, whose students—under the supervision of an engineer—facilitated the Robotics session. This interaction not only fostered active participation but also allowed the children to visualize educational pathways in engineering, evidenced by their high level of engagement and the dynamic exchange of questions and answers.
Building on this initial success, we plan to expand our impact in 2026 by launching a second cohort of 40 students and celebrating the graduation of our very first generation in Monterrey. To sustain this growth, we aim to amplify our network of collaborators within the region, seeking new educational and financial partners, as well as passionate guest teachers and volunteers. Together, we will continue to ensure the successful implementation of this project and empower the next generation of talent in Nuevo León.
