This report provides an overview of the key activities and developments within the vocational training program during the fourth quarter.

  • Sewing Training: The HOCAP Vocational training for 54 trainees went on very well with commitment from trainees who have to walk for miles three times in a week to learn the skill of sewing. During the month of June and July the rain disturbed the training, especially because training was going on under trees and each day it rained the class had to come to an end. We are grateful to say that on the 5th of August 2025, the trainees moved to the newly constructed vocational school even though not fully completed.
  • HOCAP was blessed to have two separate donations:

-Five sewing machines donated by the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Albany (WPC).

-Ten additional sewing machines, donated by friends and partners from Arizona

  • On the 5th of August, there was a field trip to show our donors from Arizona the work HOCAP was undertaking in the community and they were excited to see the ongoing development in the community.
  • The trainees also had their- T- shirts printed and won for the first time as a group

Bakery Training:

The bakery training program has been initiated this quarter with the purchase of a commercial oven and commercial stove. The equipment’s have been delivered to the HOCAP Vocational School.

ICT Training:

To make ICT training more accessible, a new strategy has been adopted. The current ICT Lap is very far from all the three schools in the communities which HOCAP serves and the distance makes it almost impossible for students to come and have classes during school periods.

The new strategy is to distribute the computers to the three schools. This change will allow training to be conducted directly in the various schools. This will be carried out next term since schools are on vacation now.

Registration of HOCAP Vocational training: HOCAP has started the registration process to get trainees take the national exams once they are done with training. The training body is National Vocational Training Institute. (NVTI)

We are glad to report the high level of commitment shown by the trainees despite walking for miles to reach the training grounds, they have consistently attended classes and shown dedication to their vocational education. HOCAP is excited about the efforts they put in their education and we thank God for all the provisions He has made possible. We are grateful to all our donors and partners for being part of this journey.

  • Financial Summary:
  • Sewing Machines $1,540.00
  • Commercial Oven & Stove: $1,300.00
    • Other expenses including facilitation fees, NVTI registration and running cost $1,200.00

Total Cost for the quarter: $4,040.00
