2011 has been an amazing year for fundraising challenges at the GVI Charitable Trust with amazing challenges taking place in Nicaragua, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, South Africa, The Amazon rainforest and of course where the first one was held, Guatemala.
At the end of November it was time once again for the Guatemala Annual Volcano challenge, an epic 4 volcanoes in 4 days covering some 600km.
In fundraising terms this challenge set a new record with amazing work by all participants and all generous donors. The funds raised by the Volcano Challenge will support many of the important aspects of our Sustainable education in Guatemala project. Including Plan Ancianos (feeding the older generation), Educational Scholarships, Food and fruit for the students and salaries for our local staff.
A huge well done to all challengers on this epic adventure and to all those who have pushed themselves to the limit this year to support GVI Charitable Trust projects. Thank you all.
