This project will break the cycle of poverty in Guatemala through education. In particular, this project will provide free, high quality, hands on, educational activities for disadvantaged students in rural Guatemala which empower them with the skills they need to succeed, help them adapt to the changing world, improve their social skills, build their self confidence and make learning fun so that they can reach their potential and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
Our students are at risk of not reaching their potential and perpetuating the cycle of poverty. They face obstacles to finishing primary school, such as they come from broken families, are the first in their families to attend school, as well as they attend low quality, overcrowded and underfunded public schools. This project will improve Guatemalan students' access to high quality educational activities to empower them to reach their potential and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
This project will provide students ages 3 to 13 with access to free, fun, safe, high quality, hands on educational activities in the areas of Art, Language and Literacy, History, Geography, Cultural Studies, Science, Math, Practical Life Skills, English and more.
We believe where you were born should not determine whether you reach your potential. Unfortunately, one of the main barriers which prevents Guatemalan children from reaching their potential is a lack of access to high quality education. This project will increase disadvantaged Guatemalan students access to hiqh quality educational activities empowering them to reach their potential and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
