Food/Winter Packs for families in Afghanistan

Following three consecutive earthquakes that struck Afghanistan in 2025, many communities across the country experienced severe damage to homes, livelihoods, and basic infrastructure. Families were left struggling to meet their most immediate needs, especially as winter approached. In response, IBC mobilized its local teams to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable households.

Since September 2025 to February 2026, IBC delivered emergency relief assistance to earthquake-affected families in Kunar and Samangan provinces. In Kunar, 100 families whose homes were damaged or destroyed received food packages, tents, and blankets. In Samangan, 60 families were supported with food packages and blankets to help them cope with harsh winter conditions and limited access to basic supplies.

In addition, we also organized a hot meal distribution for approximately 1,500 people for three consecutive days to support affected and vulnerable families.

Thanks to the generous support of donors on GlobalGiving, we were also able to purchase five additional food parcels, each sufficient to feed a family of six, as well as two extra blankets for vulnerable households in December. Your support allowed us to extend assistance to even more families in need.

Looking ahead, IBC continues to stand with vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. In March 2026, we are implementing our Ramadan Assistance Program, through which at least 100 families will receive food packages to help them meet their basic needs during the holy month of Ramadan.
