Summary

As wildfires ravage the coastal mountains of western Syria, Amal Al-Umma is launching an emergency response to support exhausted civil defense teams and vulnerable families. This campaign aims to provide essential food baskets, clean drinking water, hygiene supplies, protective tools, and light sources to those on the frontlines and those displaced by the fires.

Challenge

Massive wildfires have erupted in the countryside of Latakia, Syria, threatening homes, forests, and lives. Civil defense teams are working around the clock with limited resources, while families are being evacuated from their homes. The fires have already destroyed large areas of agricultural land, and the intense heat, smoke, and lack of access to clean water are compounding the suffering. Basic necessities like food, hygiene items, and protective gear are running dangerously low.

Solution

Through this campaign, Amal Al-Umma will deliver emergency relief kits to civil defense workers and affected families. Each kit will include canned food, drinking water, tissues, flashlights, batteries, basic protective equipment, and hygiene essentials. These items will help sustain the energy and safety of first responders while also supporting displaced civilians in temporary shelters or isolated areas.

Long-Term Impact

Beyond the immediate relief, this support helps preserve human dignity and community resilience during disasters. Ensuring civil defense teams remain nourished and equipped allows them to continue saving lives. Supporting families with essentials during displacement minimizes long-term trauma, health risks, and instability. Together, we help communities recover and stand stronger in the face of future crises.
