As schools across Afghanistan remain closed and many women are confined to their homes, the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) continues to stand as a vital source of hope, education, and support. Even in these restrictive circumstances, AIL ensures that Afghan women and girls are not forgotten. Through community-based learning centers, home-based education, and skills training programs, women are still able to learn, grow, and maintain a sense of purpose despite being cut off from formal schooling and public life.
Beyond education, AIL provides critical health services, legal aid, and leadership workshops that help women protect their rights, care for their families, and remain engaged in their communities. These programs are designed to meet women where they are—often literally in their homes—offering dignity, knowledge, and resilience during an incredibly difficult period. Thanks to the continued generosity of our donors, AIL is able to keep these essential programs running, ensuring that Afghan women are supported, empowered, and reminded that they are not alone, even in the most challenging times.
