To you, our donors, thank you for your continued support. Your investment in the education of our YWOW girls creates a light for their way, one which enables them to shine and illuminate others.

Past and present celebrate together at the Annual YWOW Reunion

The Epworth annual reunion, Epworthian day, is a joyous opportunity for our past and present YWOW to connect.

For many, it is a nostalgic walk down memory lane and a rekindling of cherished friendships; for others, it is an opportunity to experience new developments on campus and to welcome the YWOW class of 2025 into the Epworthian fold.

The day includes the gifting of a shell necklace to the YWOW Grade 12’s. Alumnae hand over this necklace as a symbol of induction into the association, the shell links to the Epworth school badge, the founder of Methodism and the pilgrimage to the shire of St James. This group of YWOW will soon be leaving to join other YWOW on life’s epic journey. The shell will remind them of where they have come from and give them the symbolic strength for where they are going.

The class of 1975 opened the Chapel Lights they donated, the plaque reading O Joyful Light, in tribute to the Epworth school song and representing the light they will shine for YWOW in front of Chapel.

Grade 8 YWOW induction

In the week prior to the Annual reunion, the YWOW Grade 8s have their official induction into Epworth. The service includes the official signing into a register where each YWOW receives a candle after the Communion service. YWOW of 2029 in five years’ time, will bring this journey full circle when they sign out during their Leavers’ Communion. The candles are a reminder not only of the school song O Joyful light, but also of the light of God, carried in the hearts of all our YWOW girls.

A weekend of song

The Epworth campus came alive with music, unity, and passion. The host of the Choral Celebration Network Foundation’s KZN Provincial Choral Festival. YWOW choristers joined 19 other choirs who lit up the stage over the three-day event.

See URL link below to hear some of the music.

Thank you for the contribution you make in the lives of these YWOW as they shine their lights.
