To you, our donors, thank you for your continued support. Your investment in the education of YWOW creates opportunities for these young women to understand their worth, as they walk a journey of learning and self-discovery.

YWOW celebrate one of literature’s greatest icons.

Jane Austen may be a literary figure from a bygone era, but her novels and influence on popular culture are still very much alive. For this reason, the Epworth high school library celebrated Jane Austen Day, commemorating her birth 250 years ago.

YWOW and their teachers rose to the occasion by dressing the part, participating in a Jane Austen quiz, fashion parade and a game of croquet. Music by the YWOW ensemble added to the atmosphere, complementing the event.

YWOW-on-the-move.

The Grade 9 YWOW received a hearty welcome on their return from the Tshela adventure. This weeklong journey is a pupil enrichment programme that takes YWOW out of the indoor classroom and into nature. Epworth parents, siblings, friends and teachers of our YWOW gathered to celebrate their homecoming and to join in a prayer of thanksgiving.

As they return to everyday life, may our YWOW carry the lessons of the road in their hearts: that fear does not define them, that strength is found in community, and that every step taken in faith is a step towards becoming.

YWOW celebrate Heritage Day.

Heritage Day is a public holiday that recognises and celebrates the cultural diversity of South Africa, fondly called the Rainbow nation. Today the Epworth YWOW featured a mix of traditional and modern styles to honour their cultural roots.
