Glad to be done with elections!!
![]()
On January 15, 2026 Uganda was able to have its general elections for the New president and Members of Parliament for the 12th Parliament. Elections in Uganda took a toll on Ugandans because of luck of civic education in communities where Thread of life carries out its activities..
As we asked the women from different households what they thought about change of power in Uganda, everyone was hesitant on sharing information because as leaders we have not educated them about how important their voices matter.
Moving on Uganda was able to elect the same president who has been in power for over 40 years and he will be ruling us for more five years taking it 45 years. As Thread of Life our is to work with the government to ensure we eradicate abject poverty in our communities and also bridge the gap of inequalities in our Country. Since we started our goats project we have seen tremendous change with in the community, we are able to see hope restored into families for their children to acquire good education through this project.
The children were meant to report to school on 2nd February 2026, initially but dues elections Ministry of Education and sports changed the date to 10th Tuesday, February 2026 for parents to be able to prepare school fees for children. Schools just opened and we are excited to enroll our children from Balawoli into school because of income from the goats project.
Meet Esther, 8 years old, she has never attended and she had no hope of acquiring any education because her parents couldn't afford it. With this project she is able to start school in 2026 and she is very excited to join school and achieve her dreams.
As Thread of Life we would not able to bring hope to our communities if it wasn't for your generosity. Therefore we are grateful for all the sacrifices you make to support our projects and keep us moving.
We are looking forward to a great 2026 and having more livestock from our goats project.
