Veterinary Update: Compassion in Action
August brought a wave of veterinary activity across our project, each visit a testament to our unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care. While the month was medically intensive, it underscored the heart of our mission: ensuring every animal receives the attention, comfort, and dignity they deserve.
Spotlight on Fushan: A Journey of Healing
One of the most significant cases this month involved Fushan, a cherished member of our animal family. Our care team, which monitors each animal’s health daily, noticed Fushan experiencing pronounced discomfort in his leg. Immediate action was taken to arrange a veterinary consultation.
Dr. Jana, a trusted expert and long-time supporter of our work, kindly visited to assess him. Her diagnosis revealed advanced arthritis, with the pain stemming from deterioration in his femur, a serious condition causing him considerable distress.
To manage his pain and improve his quality of life, Fushan has been prescribed specialized medication. Our team continues to monitor him closely, ensuring he receives loving, attentive care every step of the way.
Grateful for Generosity
We are deeply thankful to Alex, founder of RegenisisVet and NovitaBiotech, for sponsoring Fushan’s medication. This generous act has made a tangible difference in his comfort and healing. We also extend heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Jana, who sponsored her visit and demonstrated once again her deep commitment to animal welfare.
Education in Action
Fushan’s assessment also became a powerful learning moment. Veterinary intern students from Egas Moniz School of Health & Science were present during the visit, gaining firsthand experience in compassionate care and clinical evaluation. Their involvement reflects the vital role of education and collaboration in advancing animal welfare.
Your Impact
Fushan holds a special place in our hearts, and we are determined to give him the best life possible. Thanks to your support, we can respond swiftly to medical needs, provide expert care, and continue building a legacy of healing and hope.
From all of us, and especially from Fushan, thank you for being part of this journey.
