Audiopedia Foundation's mission is to ensure that every woman-regardless of literacy, location, or connectivity-has access to life-changing knowledge. We believe that knowledge is a human right and a powerful driver of gender equality. Yet more than 500 million women worldwide are illiterate, and countless more live in remote or marginalized communities without internet access. We believe that knowledge is a human right and a powerful driver of gender equality. Yet more than 500 million women worldwide are illiterate, and countless more live in remote or marginalized communities without internet access. This leaves them excluded from vital information about health, rights, family planning, nutrition, financial independence, and personal safety. At Audiopedia Foundation, we work to close this gap by delivering essential knowledge in the form of localized audio content-freely available and designed for women who cannot read. We do this through an open-source platform that enables translation into over 150 languages and distribution through mobile phones, community radios, solar-powered loudspeakers, and offline digital tools like micro SD cards. We focus on reaching women in the most underserved areas of the Global South, collaborating with grassroots organizations, community health workers, and NGOs who use Audiopedia as a trusted tool for community engagement and empowerment. Our work is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being). Audiopedia has been recognized by the UN SDG Digital Acceleration Agenda as a high-impact digital solution to advance gender equality and overcome systemic barriers to education and inclusion. Our mission is both simple and transformative: To use the power of audio to give every woman the knowledge she needs to thrive-freely, accessibly, and without barriers.
