The humanitarian situation in Lebanon is rapidly deteriorating as military operations in the south intensify. Recent evacuation orders affecting dozens of villages have forced over 300,000 people to flee their homes, with many families seeking refuge in Beirut and northern areas of the country.
With shelters already overwhelmed, thousands of displaced people are sleeping in cars, on the streets, or in temporary shelters such as schools, convents, and public buildings. In a country already weakened by years of economic crisis, the growing displacement is placing further pressure on essential services, including healthcare.
In this context, our dispensaries in Gemmayze (Beirut) and Al Mina (Tripoli) continue to play a crucial role in providing access to healthcare for vulnerable communities. Here we offer medical consultations, basic health screenings, and the distribution of essential and life-saving medicines, with particular attention to children, elderly people, and patients with chronic conditions.
As the number of displaced families increases, we have strengthened our response by introducing dedicated health screenings for people on the move, helping identify urgent medical needs and ensure timely access to treatment.
As our Project Manager in Beirut, Silvia Zucconelli, explains, our teams are keeping dispensary services running and reaching families directly where they are most in need. With these efforts, we aim to reach over 9,000 people with essential healthcare in 2026.
