Thank you for your contribution to open the new children's home. The Verna House was opened on 24th July 2017 with 14 children in the age group of 7th 12 years of age. The capacity of the house is to accommodate 75 children. There are many children going through the admission procedure. Mr. Paremesh is the Incharge in the home along with an Assistant Incharge and a Cook. The children are admitted in a convent School name Our Lady of Succour Primary School Verna Goa. The children are studying in 1st to 5th class. As these children are coming from villages and from poor backgrounds they are learning to speak in English and Hindi the Indian national language. All the children have well settled in the home. The children are also finding the school home - work little difficult but with the help of extra coaching and continuous support from the staff, they are slowly progressing.

The neighbors have been very supportive and encouraging towards the work of El Shaddai Charitable Trust. The Verna House had many neighbors visit the place with sweets, biscuits, and fruits for the children. They are happy to have Verna House children’s home in their neighborhood.

The food is cooked in the home. The menu is the same as other home menus which include three times nutritious meals and evening snack.

The visiting timings at Verna House is 4.30 to 6.00pm. It would be nice if you are around in South Goa, do visit the children. The home is yet to buy Television, Beds and other requirements for the house.

The home is just a building without lives in it.
