At Bhongolethu School, winter is fast approaching, and the rainy season has already brought severe flooding that forced us to close our doors temporarily. For the children of Masiphumelele township—who show up each day ready to learn, to grow, and to fight poverty through education—this meant yet another setback. Precious learning time was lost.

But the stormwater isn't our only challenge. Each month, we face a funding shortfall of around $3,500. Covering basic running costs is a monthly struggle, and despite the dedication of our teachers, volunteers, and supporters, we’re constantly working to keep the school afloat.

And yet, there is real hope.

In just 12 months, we expect to receive our official registration from the local government. This milestone will allow Bhongolethu to access long-term support, becoming a fully independent and accessible school for the children who need it most. We are so close—but we must hold on through this critical period.
