Dear Donor,
A few days ago, I visited one of the displacement shelters on the outskirts of Souran city in northern Syria. There, we met little Salem, who lives with his mother and grandmother after losing his father in an airstrike two years ago. The shelter is very simple — just small rooms that barely protect from the cold or heat — but what struck me most was Salem’s silence and the deep look in his eyes, reflecting a pain that words can’t describe.
His mother told us how heavy the days feel, and how often she goes to sleep worried that her child might wake up hungry with nothing to eat. But thanks to your support, we were able to provide them with a complete food basket, filled with essential supplies — rice, lentils, oil, and more — enough to sustain them for an entire month.
The mother’s joy was indescribable, and her tears spoke louder than words. As for Salem, he smiled when he saw the container of halva in the basket, as if it were a priceless treasure.
Truly, your support means more than just food on the table. It’s a sense of security, a warmth in hearts that have grown weary from fear and uncertainty.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for standing by them and for bringing real hope at a time when hope is so rare.
We still need your continued support. There are many stories like Salem’s, waiting for someone with a kind heart to reach out.
