Project Progress Report
Project Title: Donate Wheelchairs for Disabled Persons in Sindh
Implementing Organization: National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan
Location: Sindh (Nawabshah, Larkana, Karachi, Hyderabad)
Supported by: GlobalGiving Donors
1. Project Overview
This project aims to restore dignity, mobility, and independence to persons with disabilities (PWDs) across Sindh by providing free, appropriate wheelchairs to those in need, especially in underserved rural and low-income urban communities. Limited mobility restricts access to education, healthcare, employment, and social participation for many people with physical disabilities in Pakistan.
2. Project Impact
50 individuals now enjoy enhanced mobility, participation in community activities, and better access to education and healthcare.
Female beneficiaries (28%) reported improved access to reproductive and general health services.
Many wheelchair recipients are now enrolled in school, engaged in small businesses, or participating in community events.
Family caregivers have expressed reduced burden and emotional relief, as mobility has improved the autonomy of their loved ones.
