Our Mission

Heya Masr is dedicated to empowering adolescent girls and boys (ages 6-18) in disadvantaged communities. Through comprehensive self-development programs, we:

• Correct harmful misconceptions
• Strengthen self-image
• Boost self-esteem and confidence
• Create safer, healthier environments through targeted training for parents, teachers, and community leaders.

Program Impact Highlights

Psychological Resilience Transformation: The most striking outcome is the dramatic improvement in children's psychological resilience from 20% to 78% - nearly a four-fold increase. This represents the core success of the program's mission.

Community Reach: The program successfully served 170 children across four partner organizations, with the Tafaoul Center being the largest beneficiary (95 children), followed by Bustan Al Hayat Association (30), Pioneers Association (30), and Caritas Center (15).

Developmental Gains

The program achieved substantial improvements across all measured areas:

Security and Health: Children's sense of security increased by 28 percentage points (58% to 86%), while good health perceptions rose by 26 points (64% to 90%). These gains likely reflect the program's emphasis on creating safe environments and promoting healthy nutrition.

Decision-Making and Self-Awareness: Notably, decision-making ability nearly doubled, with a 34-point increase (35% to 69%), while self-awareness improved by 27 points (47% to 74%). This aligns perfectly with the "I am a Leader" character-building module.

Civic Engagement: Effective citizenship increased by 15 points, and self-confidence by 11 points, indicating the program's success in building well-rounded, confident young people.

Knowledge and Behavior: Knowledge improvement jumped 30 points (52% to 82%), with behavior improvements showing gains of 11-17 points across different measures.

The three-module approach, addressing leadership, health, and safety, is creating comprehensive, positive change in these children's lives. The partnership model with local organizations also demonstrates effective community-based program delivery.
