Title: Restoring Hope through Education: Ahmed’s Journey

"I thought my future was over when we fled our home, but this school gave me my life back." These are the words of Ahmed (10 years old), a displaced child in Yemen whose education was interrupted by the ongoing crisis. After a year of being out of school due to the lack of resources, Ahmed was reintegrated through SORD’s educational project.

The intervention went beyond the classroom; Ahmed received daily morning meals that improved his concentration and health. He also participated in psychosocial support sessions to help him process the trauma of displacement. Today, Ahmed is not just a student; he is a symbol of resilience among the 500 children receiving school supplies and a future

9 . Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Access to Education: 400 students successfully reintegrated into the education system and are undergoing continuous monitoring.
  • School Feeding: 100 students provided with daily morning meals for two months to combat malnutrition and enhance learning.
  • Psychosocial Support (PSS): 20 counseling sessions (individual and group) conducted for 50 students to address psychological and social challenges.
  • Health Interventions: 70 total medical referrals were facilitated:
    • 19 students referred for medical examinations.
    • 51 students referred to receive prescribed medications

10. Recommendations

  • Intensify fundraising efforts to expand project reach.
  • Prioritize summer activities (educational, recreational, psychosocial) to protect children during school breaks from exploitation and recruitment risks.

11. Next Steps

Sanid Organization has developed a summer activity plan to maintain educational engagement and safeguard children from extremist groups and social risks. These activities are critical and require urgent donor support.

12. Acknowledgment

We extend our sincere gratitude to all donors and supporters who continue to stand with the Yemeni people and protect their children’s future.
