Give an education to 100 teenage mothers in Ghana

In 2021, we supported Christiana, an adolescent mother, to return to Junior High School. That same year, she successfully wrote the BECE exams and gained admission into Senior High School to study Home Economics.

We shared in her joy and walked alongside her, providing bursary support, mentoring, and sexual and reproductive health education throughout her secondary education.

Three years later, Christiana proudly sat for the WASSCE exams, completing Senior High School with results good enough to proceed to tertiary education.

Today, Christiana is one step closer to her dream of becoming a nurse. She has applied to several nursing training colleges and is eagerly awaiting admission.

Her journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and hard work and a reminder of the life-changing impact of your support.

To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, we organized a one-day business development training for 100 graduate apprentices including 50 young mothers. The training sought to equip these young women with entreprenuerial skills and knowledge to be able to translate their vocational skills into profitable businesses. The training highlighted areas such as digital marketing,  customer relationship management, innovation and creativity in business, record keeping, productivity and time management. 

The event also brought together experienced entrepreneurs who shared their journeys of starting and running their businesses. 

Finally, the Director of the Ghana Enterprise Agency shared with them opportunities at their office that they can leverage on to start up their business. 

Participants gave positive feedback about the event which  meant that the event was beneficial to them.
