The All Out Africa Foundation’s computer literacy program continues to grow and make a lasting impact in Ezulwini. Building on the successes of earlier sessions, our goal remains the same: to equip young learners with essential digital skills, empower them to explore educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, and bridge the digital divide in underserved communities.

Over the past quarter, 20 students were enrolled in our foundational computer skills course, with learning focused on both theory and practical application. We introduced quizzes and hands-on assessments to evaluate progress and reinforce learning.

Key Highlights:

  • Quiz Participation:20 students took a multiple-choice quiz covering basic computer terms, hardware, safety, and everyday uses.
    • 60% scored above 80%, showing excellent understanding.
    • Only 25% scored below 50%, reflecting a solid grasp of core concepts.
  • First Class Observational Assessment:Evaluated students on understanding, participation, and computer handling.
    • 62% of students rated ‘Excellent’
    • 24% ‘Good’
    • Only 3% ‘Needs Improvement’
  • Second Class Practical Assessment:Focused on computer operations, posture, lab rules, and typing.
    • 60% scored above 80%
    • Areas for support were identified for a few students to receive targeted help going forward.

We’re proud to note the learners’ continued enthusiasm many even attending sessions during school holidays. These results reflect both the hard work of the students and the commitment of our coordinators and volunteers.

Next Steps:

Looking ahead, we will roll out a Google Course with the help of our local multimedia intern. This will expand student exposure to real-world digital tools. We also plan to introduce basic coding and spreadsheet skills, preparing learners for opportunities in the digital economy.

A special thank you to the British High Commission in Eswatini for the solar panel donation that ensures uninterrupted lessons, and to our dedicated team and volunteers who continue to drive this program forward.
