Empower a Girl in Guatemala: Education after COVID

The Becas para la Niña Project emerges as a committed response to the multiple challenges girls face in accessing, remaining in, and completing their educational journey. Factors such as poverty, school dropout, child labor, migration, and lack of family support continue to put their right to education at risk.

In this context, methodological accompaniment becomes a key tool to rescue, strengthen, and motivate scholarship recipients, providing them not only with academic support, but also emotional, social, and formative support. This accompaniment makes it possible to closely follow each girl, recognizing her reality, her challenges, and her potential.

The methodological accompaniment of the Becas para la Niña Project focuses primarily on rescuing girls at risk of falling behind or dropping out of school, supporting them comprehensively throughout their educational path. This process is not limited to academic supervision; it also seeks to build trust, strengthen selfesteem, and reaffirm the value of education as a tool for personal and family transformation.

Each action is aimed at reminding them that they are not alone, that their dreams matter, and that with support and perseverance it is possible to overcome the obstacles that arise along the way. The methodological accompaniment is developed through three fundamental components:

• Monitoring of Educational Centers
• Tutoring
• Extracurricular Training

Each action carried out reaffirms the commitment to believe in girls, in their dreams, and in their ability to build a better future for themselves and their families. Thanks to this constant accompaniment, we have achieved a dropout rate of 0.5% and a 96% promotion rate among the 52 scholarship recipients supported in this 2025 campaign. With your help we are close to achieving our goal: sponsoring 350 girls.
