On April 1st, we kicked off the month by promoting an event celebrating the impact of civil society organizations. Last year’s edition brought together over 60 organizations that showcased their work and impact, motivating them to return again this year, where we had at least 80 organizations joining us. The event highlights the work of CSOs and their impact on the community, offering activities, live performances, and family-friendly experiences.

On April 7th, we shared the “Survey on the Labor Situation in Civil Society Organizations in Argentina” led by the Consultative Council of Civil Associations of UNLP and the Federation of Cultural and Sports Institutions of La Plata. The study, titled “Survey of Workers, Salaries, and Fees in the Social Organizations Sector,” aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the sector through data analysis and segmentation. It is supported by networks such as: RACI, Red Encuentro, Banco de Alimentos Argentina, GDFE, FEDEFA, and Foro del Sector Social.

On April 9th, we celebrated the winning teams of the Latin America and Caribbean Hackathon 2025. For five intense days, multidisciplinary teams co-created innovative tech solutions to boost civic participation, strengthen civic space, and promote a more inclusive democracy across the region. Teams developed socially impactful prototypes with a user-centered approach, tackling key issues like cybersecurity in digital projects to ensure scalable and safe solutions.

On April 23rd, we announced the upcoming talk “Collective Intelligence: Rethinking the Logic of International Cooperation”, held on April 29th. Speakers included Guillermo Correa (Executive Director of RACI), Patricia Mercado Sánchez (co-founder of Conexión Migrante), and Brazilian philanthropy consultant Graciela Hopstein.

On April 25th, we shared findings from the World Giving Index, one of the most globally recognized studies on generosity and solidarity, led by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The index measures how individuals and organizations contribute to the common good through donations, volunteering, and helping strangers.
This year, for the first time, the study included surveys answered directly by civil society organizations, allowing for a more accurate reflection of our role in building a more supportive society. Argentina ranked 93rd out of 142 countries.

On April 30th, RACI participated in the opening session of the 2025 training program Estrategas Urbanos Federal, focused on participation and volunteering as pillars of active citizenship.
Organized by the General Directorate of Federal Affairs of the Buenos Aires City Government and the Instituto Superior de la Carrera, the event gathered citizens, students, organizations, and community stakeholders.
RACI shared its experience in promoting volunteering as a strategic tool for civil society and presented upcoming initiatives on the topic.

Also on April 30th, RACI co-hosted the #DiálogoCONNECTAS with @connectasorg, a key space for reflecting on the challenges and opportunities CSOs in Latin America currently face.
Guillermo Correa, Executive Director of RACI, presented on the crisis in international cooperation and the urgency to rethink fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable models. Other speakers included Patricia Mercado Sánchez (Mexico) and Graciela Hopstein (Brazil), moderated by Carlos Eduardo Huertas.

On May 8th, we launched the 4th BBVA-RACI Award for Social Inclusion, inviting CSOs to apply. There were two categories aligned with the SDGs: Goal 4 (inclusive and quality education) and Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth). The competition awarded ARS $10,000,000 to recognize commitment and amplify impact. Applications were open from May 8th to 29th.

On May 15th, RACI welcomed 49 new member organizations during a special event held at Fundación Navarro Viola, with both in-person and remote participation.
With these additions, we now count over 280 organizations working together to strengthen civil society, drive transformation, and support the sector’s growth.

On May 29th, over 150 organizations joined the conversation “Between Cuts and Setbacks: How Do We Defend the Collective?”, part of RACI’s Reimagining the Future of Civil Society program.
Panelists included Mariela Belski (Amnesty International), Carlos March (Fundación Avina), and Mariano De Donatis (Health Care Without Harm), moderated by Guillermo Correa.

On June 13th, a new dialogue with international cooperation actors was held at the German Embassy in Argentina. Over 15 representatives from embassies, foreign foundations, and cooperation agencies participated. RACI presented the latest findings of its national survey on civil society and shared updates on the Reimagining program, opening a space for open dialogue and shared strategies for a stronger, more resilient ecosystem.
