Dear patrons,

Hope you and your family are safe and healthy,

Residents of slum are deprived of jobs, money, food and education since the nationwide lockdown was imposed in the wake of COVID-19 Outbreak. Standing in ques and waiting for the food to arrive has become a morning chore for the slum dwellers.

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, outreach workers of El Shaddai have been distributing dry rations, tarpaulin sheets, masks, hygiene kits and books to the poor.  The grocery kit contains rice, pulses, oil, spices and vegetables that can feed four people meals for day for 30 days. It also contains hygiene kits containing masks, soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste etc. and sanitay pads.

So far we have reached out to  868 families since the lockdown began. not only food and shelter but the NGOs are ensuring their continuity to help and support the under-privileged children.

El Shaddai is ensuring to provide at least one time meal a day to more than 50 families of migrant laborers living in the slum. So far we have distributed over 1,20,000 meals as of April 30 across Goa.

According to the foundation, each cooked meal costs Rs. 25/- and the grocery kits cost Rs. 1000/- each.

While fighting with COVID-19 and monsoon many families’ huts have been damaged. our team adventured into slums with open hearts and hence to uplift those in needs especially due to monsoon, around 28 sheets of tarpaulin were distributed to families that lived in slums to protect them from this rainy, cold season.

This drive was just a reminder that we can’t stop and there are so many needs to be met if we just look beyond ourselves. there is lot of hard work to be done and so many people to be reached and its a great reminder that we cannot stop

We can’t thank you enough for your sense of love and community through your generosity. love has the power to change the hardest of circumstances. Every day is an opportunity to put love on and share it. Your support is crucial for us to continue the relief service. Join us now by contributing generously and by sharing the relief programme in your network. We appreciate any and all support. No donation is too small to make a difference.

Once again thank you so much for your  continuous and valuable support through GlobalGiving site even as you and your loved ones are touched by the impact of this epidemic.

With gratitude,

El Shaddai Charitable Trust
