We’re excited to share that India Home’s community spaces continue to thrive with activity and energy—thanks to your ongoing support.
Our senior centers have been bustling six days a week, offering culturally responsive programming that brings together South Asian and Indo-Caribbean elders in a warm, welcoming environment. From yoga and crafts to community meals and dance classes, the sense of belonging is palpable.
We’re also proud to announce that, with support from the CTA Foundation, we’ll soon be launching a dedicated computer lab to support our weekly Saturday technology classes. This initiative will allow us to deliver a culturally and linguistically tailored digital literacy curriculum to help our elders bridge the digital divide—empowering them to use smartphones, navigate the internet, and stay connected with family and services.
Another highlight this spring was India Home’s Talent is Timeless competition, part of NYC Aging’s citywide celebration of senior creativity. Held on June 6th, our community beamed with pride as the Sakhi Dance Group took top place. We’re now cheering on our shortlisted performers as they advance to the Queens-wide showcase.
We also have exciting news for the next stage of our capital campaign: India Home’s annual fundraising gala will take place in October 2025 to help finalize funds for the South Asian Community Home. Visit our gala page at indiahome.org/annual-gala-2025/ for more information.
In preparation, we’ve begun applying for public assembly permits and are aiming to begin renovations this summer. With your continued support, we’re one step closer to creating a permanent, inclusive space that affirms the dignity of immigrant elders.
Thank you for walking alongside us in this journey. Your generosity is not only helping build a center—it’s helping build a home.
With gratitude,
The India Home Team
