Humanity First Association of Cleaners HUFAC-CAMEROON is currently undertaking a project on the GlobalGiving platform title, Improving Mental Well-being of IDPs in Cameroon." This initiative aims to support the mental well-being of internally displaced person's (IDPs) residing in the Kumba-Kake village.
The project targets a specific group of beneficiaries, namely the IDPs who have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing conflict and insecurity in the region. These individuals, often traumatized by atrocities they have witnessed and experienced, are in dire need of mental health support to cope with their traumatic experiences and rebuild their lives.
HUFAC-CAMEROON has been actively involved in various ongoing activities to address the mental health needs of these IDPs. We try to provide psychosocial counseling sessions, group therapies, and trauma healing workshops to help individuals process their emotions and improve their overall well-being. Additionally, they engage in community awareness campaigns to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage support for those affected.
The reality faced by these IDPs is heartbreaking, with many experiencing profound loss and enduring unimaginable hardships. It is imperitive that we recognize the urgency and significance of supporting their mental well-being. HUFAC-CAMEROON'S project on the GlobalGiving platform seeks to inspire compassion and rally support for these vulnerable individuals, offering them a chance to heal, regain hope, and rebuild their lives.
