Wow it has been a crazy few months with tummy bugs and influenza A making many people sick. We have taken all precautions such as being conscientious about hand washing, separating those who were sick and wearing masks, but the bugs beat us!!!
With many small children we had to watch them closely as their fevers rose very quickly to dangerous levels. There have been many trips to the doctor and late night A and E departments, but there is not much the doctors can do but treat the symptoms and keep them comfortable. No need for antibiotics as they will not help. Your donations have helped to cover the cost of all of these visits and many bottles of medication and fever patches for young and old!
In addition to this we have recently accepted 2 boys aged 8 and 10 who are on special medication to help them with the psychological trauma. We have been able to pay for visits the psychologist and the medication as well.
Early next year we will be doing eye examinations and identifying which children need glasses. We are working with an optometrist who will be charging 800 baht for each pair including frames and lenses. The usual starting price is 7 000 baht.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
God bless you and thank you.
