Holding classes in makeshift classrooms
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing safe sanitation to poor families. This reporting period we focus our assistance to families who were affected by the series of earthquakes happening in the Southern Philippines. The earthquake and its aftershocks has rendered so many families in several municipalities homeless. Those whose houses are still intact fear that these will collapse anytime so they are opting to stay in tents. With the assistance and partnership of other local NGO's we distributed hygiene kits to 533 school children holding classes in makeshift classrooms made of tents and bamboo framing. They are in makeshift tents because they fear that their school buildings will collapse anytime.
Hoping for your additional support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario

Turmeric processed into capsules
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing proper sanitation and food security to poor households. With changing climate, food is getting scarcer and poverty is the common lot of small-scale farmers. The government is trying to remedy the situation by providing cash incentives to poor families but the huge number of those needing support is just too much. There is a need to be proactive and look for non-traditional means of assistance. This reporting period, we launched the processing of high-valued crops like turmeric into tea and capsules. The capsule maker and the blank capsules we procured through on-line procurement process and this is successful. The turmeric capsule commands high price in the market especially for the health-conscious and the shelf-life is longer compared to the raw product. We are hoping that the marketing of our products will go smoothly in order to benefit a lot of farmers.
Hoping for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario Sayre

ducklings
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our Mindanao Sanitation and Food Security initiative. This reporting period and after finding-out that our initial duck raising support for food security is well-received and have benefited the recipients, we decided to continue and expand this. Our strategy is to raise our own ducklings for dispersal as we found out that sourcing ducklings from other raisers is problematic and quality is not ensured. We are doing duckling production by buying quality duck eggs and then incubating them in our home-made incubator. We are very successful in this aspect, and so far we were able to disperse a total of 800 ducklings to 80 recipients.
Hoping for your continuing support to this initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario
