Adela, the girl with a smile like summer

Welcome to the New Year!

We spun the wheels of change together in 2025 and I hope you will remain with us on this journey in 2026. We are ready to put in all the energy we gathered this winter holiday to continue doing good. So stay tuned, as beautiful things are about to come.

Today I bring you the story of Adela, the girl with a smile like summer. She has warmed our hearts with her dimples at first sight, and continues to do so each time we meet.

Adela was born without a leg. However, this does not stop her from going through life with determination, eager to discover all the best life can give her. She also has a strong motivation – to give her younger sister courage and to be a role model for her.

The wheelchair Adela received from Motivation Romania makes it easier for the sisters to play together. This is Adela`s first wheelchair and it really does the job of helping her participate, keep the rhythm, make up for lost time. Moreover, at Motivation`s camp, Adela learned how to unleash her courage and to use her abilities. There, she met our wheelchair skills trainers, who taught her to do things on her own, just as her mother encouraged her to do.

It would have been impossible to give Adela mobility, self-confidence and opportunities to discover her abilities, had we not had by our side people like you, who understand that we are stronger together. With your help, in 2025 Motivation Romania gave back freedom of movement to 36 wheelchair users via GlobalGiving, of the 1,247 children and adults with mobility disabilities who received mobility equipment donations from us last year.

Just like Adela, thousands of other children and adults in Romania still dream to be independent, to have freedom of movement and to achieve their dreams. We want to help each of them do so, but for this, we need you by our side in 2026.

Start the year of good work with Motivation, giving back hope and freedom of movement to children and adults with mobility disabilities like Adela.

YOU help change lives for the better. Thank you!
