Your past support for our educational programming has made a big impact on the lives of children in Central America this year. For example, 174 chidlren in Eastern El Salvador have participated in monthly lessons focused on topics ranging from forest ecosystems to sea turltes and marine life. And in southwestern Nicaragau, over sixty children have participated in a range of educational events, including field trips and citizen science activities such as birding events and iNaturalist challenges.
By participating in these program, the youth shift into a state of knowing their own personal worth as stewards of their natural environment, and feeling empowered to take action to clean beaches, stand up for wildlife that is being harrassed, and to share with their families the importance of their landscapes to the preservation of biodiversity.
Thanks to your support, the future can seem limitless to the children who have had the chance to be a part of our programs.
Yet, at this time in our world, there are many who feel hopeless. When there is despair, change does not seem possible, and the future seems bleak. Yet, I believe, we can combat that feeling of darkness by being a part of shaping the lives of one child who will one day grow to care for nature.
Will you please send a year-end gift to inspire one child to care for their natural world through this GlobalGiving campign?
Your gift will inspire one child in 2026 by giving them the chance to hold a baby sea turtle and release it carefully to the ocean waves. It will motivate them to listen to bird songs and watch for the arrival of migrating whales. And it will help them discover extraordinary volcanoes and wetlands that border their communities.
It’s critical that you give before the end of the year. If one child does not receive the help they need in time, then our educational programming cannot continue. Without this opportunity, they might not feel pride in the habitats found near their communities. They might feel powerless. And they might accept that things like wildlife trafficking, deforestation, and pollution are inevitable. I don’t want that to happen, and neither do you.
But your gift will inspire one child to care for their natural world! And your gift will support all the work of Paso Pacifico.
I hope you are well, and that you find a moment to count your blessings this wonderful season. And I hope you’ll send a gift before the end of the year!\
