Nyaka’s Grandmother Program continues to transform lives by empowering over 23,000 grandmothers caring for more than 92,000 orphaned and vulnerable children. In 2025, a major advancement is the utilization of Nyaka’s new microfinance bank, which is streamlining how grandmothers access and manage loans. Previously reliant on informal revolving cash funds, grandmothers can now securely borrow, save, and repay micro-loans through structured digital systems.
For the first time, many grandmothers are using smartphones to manage their finances, access information and communicate better - bringing dignity, independence, and greater efficiency to their efforts. This digital shift is enhancing transparency, reducing risk, and helping grandmothers grow their businesses, support their families, and lift entire households out of poverty.
